Description:

Approximately 20–25% of all acute strokes occur in the posterior circulation. These strokes can often go undetected given low stroke scales and little to no limb weakness. This webinar will provide the audience with an overview of posterior circulation stroke. We will discuss anatomy, review intracranial imaging, and investigate stroke syndromes commonly seen in posterior circulation strokes. Participants will be engaged through case studies and interactive polling.

 

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Discuss epidemiology and etiologies of posterior circulation stroke (PCS)

  2. Discuss common presentations according to vascular distribution

  3. Interpret imaging findings associated with PCS
